The Chesapeake Avenue Bike Path project was for the City of Newport News. Due to the small quantity and to minimize cost, we used our Ultra Fuse emulsifier before placing the THMACO product on the bike path. THMACO is a thin lift asphalt product that helps prevent reflective cracking from the concrete surface below it.
An MTV (Material Transfer Vehicle) was used to prevent the trucks from having to go on the bike path, which helped production as well as preventing unnecessary stress to the existing bike path. This was very important to the community, as it is a highly used area skirting the Hampton River.
