As one of 20 subcontractors, Branscome’s crews from Hampton Roads and Richmond have pitched in to help complete an expansive project for the Port of Virginia. The NIT North Gate project required nearly 150,000 cubic yards of cut/haul off material, 50,000 tons of CTA, 30,000 tons of asphalt, and 30,000 tons of roller-compacted concrete. It features three different canopy structures, two OCR buildings, and a brick driver assistance building, as well as a large electronic message sign. Upon completion, this project will provide the port with a new examination terminal for all incoming and outgoing trucks and a new interchange for the entrance off of 564.
